TORONTO, May 23 /CNW/ — TORONTO, May 23 /CNW/ – The Ontario government is pleased to report that the Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug leadership will be released from jail today pending the appeal of their sentence of six months incarceration.

Today's Court decision is a positive resolution, and reflects the combined efforts of all parties involved. It respects the rule of law and allows good faith negotiations to prevail.

Platinex Inc. agreed not to enter the exploration site pending the appeal. The leadership from Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation has also agreed to abide by the terms of the order, to refrain from protesting Platinex Inc.'s exploration activities pending their appeal.

Ontario has also made every effort to expedite the appeal of their sentences, in order to get all parties back to the negotiating table. We appreciate the efforts of both Platinex Inc. and Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug leadership for agreeing to the terms of the stay.

We hope to find a lasting resolution to these issues that will satisfy all parties involved, and know how important it is for talks to continue.
